Brandy Mortensen, Named MRU 2014

Brandy Mortensen, Springville, is Miss Rodeo Utah 2014. She won the title after a weeklong pageant held as part of Ogden Pioneer Days, Utah’s biggest and best statehood celebration. Mortensen, 23, will serve as Lady-in-Waiting to Miss Rodeo Utah 2013 MaKenzie Maughan until January, when she will officially take over as the First Lady of rodeo in Utah. She also will represent Utah at the Miss Rodeo America pageant in 2014.

“Being Miss Rodeo Utah will give me the chance to share what I have found and love with the people of Utah,” says Mortensen, who swept the appearance, personality, horsemanship and public speaking portions of the pageant.  “It is be a great honor to represent rodeo as someone who has grown to love the sport, as well as the traditions and values that go hand-in-hand with rodeo.”

Mortensen’s attendants are Talia Wilson, Lindon; Morgan Bo Blackhurst, Hoytsville; Regan Kae Torres, Roosevelt; and Rachel Halverson, Morgan. Paige Morgan, Provo, was voted by the contestants as Miss Congeniality.
