Canyonlands Rodeo
I had a blast at the Canyonlands Rodeo this weekend! The Canyonlands Committee and Bar T Rodeo Inc. put on a great rodeo, both for the fans and for the contestants. On top of a great rodeo, I really enjoyed all of the tourist activities that the committee set up for me to do while in Moab.
The Canyonlands Queen, Emily, and myself enjoyed a Hummer tour on trails named “Poison Spider” and “Hell’s Revenge.” I’m sure your imagination is running wild… and honestly, you’re probably right on track! They were pretty wild!
There were a lot of neat things on the trail including Dinosaur tracks and Native American Pictographs.
The following day Tosha, the Queen Coordinator, and myself went for a four wheel ride. Before we started the ride, she told me it was going to be pretty tame…. and by the end of the trail we were both in four wheel drive and first gear crawling up slick rocks…. but I guess that is pretty tame if you’re from Moab.
The Canyonlands Rodeo also has a unique way of raising money for the TETWP program. They set out buckets with pictures of the sheriff, rodeo chairman, and myself. By the end of the rodeo the persons bucket that had the most money in it got to kiss the pig. Bet you can’t guess who won…. but no one can say that Wilber and I didn’t do our part to raise money for the Tough Enough To Wear Pink program!
Like every trip the best part are the friends and memories made. So thank you to all the people in Moab that are involved in the Canyonlands Rodeo!
God Bless
-Marti
